Iowa Employer Logistics Coordinator in DAKOTA DUNES, South Dakota

KEY TASKS:* Procure inbound loads for Two Rivers Transportation fleet and outside carriers. Must consider and manage cost effectiveness of loads by making determinations based on product, rate per mile, schedules, weights, and other varying factors. May have to combine loads to ensure efficient use of resources.* Enter scheduled loads and driver logs into system. Advise and follow up with drivers on missing logs. Will handle appointment issues and conflicts to an appropriate resolution. Manage schedule adjustments and delivery schedules. Communicating to applicable personnel to determine items such as an acceptable altered schedule and arrangements.* Responsible for managing claims process through the resolution of the claim. Documenting and tracking the process and providing the appropriate follow-up and feed back to management.* Audit and review logs for accuracy, and possible DOT Violations. Advising Management of any violations that may require investigating.* Procure freight for raw material orders. Analyze, appraise and calculate freight to determine most cost effective and timely pickup and delivery schedule. Make determination if load needs to be joined to other stops for cost effective shipments.* Coordinate with freight carrier securing carrier rate, insurance requirements and delivery schedule. Will transmit load confirmations to carriers as required.* Manage brokered freight and handle all transportation and traffic activities associated with this task. Ensuring on-time delivery schedules and resolution of any issues.* Proactively maintain lists of carriers frequently available in primary pick up areas. Maintain updated information concerning carrier rates, insurance requirements and type of product or equipment carrier can haul.*Communicates timely raw material supplier information such as product type, quantity, pricing and arrival dates in e-mail format and sends to all applicable personnel.* Maintain filing and retention systems as required. May perform backup coverage for the department. Will also be required to participate in the department's weekend rotation schedule.* Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.* Performs all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Knowledgeable in accounting and basic math.* Proven experience in logistics and transportation.* Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and stay organized.* Adaptable to change with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with constant change.* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of employees, customers, suppliers, truck lines both verbally and in written form.* Proficient with computers and MS Office suite.
